Saltburn by the Sea
Set high above the sea and shore, Saltburn has a charm and character distinctly Victorian. Once a Spa Town, today Saltburn is still a relaxed and refined holiday venue and an ideal setting for our 14th Saltburn Festival of Folk Music, Dance & Song.
However, with the railways came the Victorians and it's their legacy the town reflects most. So alongside modern holiday needs and sporting facilities, you'll find the old Railway Station and former Zetland Hotel - two excellent examples of Victorian architecture. The Italian Gardens are still a fine sight any Victorian would recognise. A miniature railway from the seafront can take you there for tea on the lawns and a visit to the Woodlands Centre, set between the formal pleasure gardens and the wild natural woodlands beyond, and of course there's the Cliff Tramway, Pier and beach fun.
